When I first walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome, and when ordering a fish supper, the waiting time was no more than 5 minutes. In the meantime, I was asking about the area since I am new to Portobello. They were accommodating, and knowing a family ran it made it ten times better to try the food. When it came to tasting it, the fish batter was soft but crispy and not hard to chew on, and the chips were just perfect for me. I enjoyed it and can’t wait to try one of their pizzas next.
Great place! We ordered fish and chips for lunch on the beach. The piece of fish was huge, the fries were plentiful, and delicious. The couple running the place were incredibly friendly; the guy spoke excellent French and a bit of Polish. A truly lovely couple with good food.
Honestly the loveliest Italian man (Raff) I’ve ever met! He served me the most incredible fish and chips, the fish was freshly fried and absolutely delicious. He was so kind, so welcoming, and so wonderfully chatty. After a long day, he genuinely brightened my mood. I would recommend to anyone who wants great food and even better service. It’s very clear this is a lovely family owned chippy. Thank you for my fritters
I took fish and chips and it was very tasty. Owners were an Italian couple who were very bright and happy to give suggestions. Don’t miss out on the brown sauce for your fish and chips - it’s divine. Also, watch out for seagulls if you bring your food to the beach. These birds also know the good stuff. Will definitely come back again!
Delicious taste! The whole fried fish was huge, and the chips were plentiful—completely filled the box. The lady owner noticed I was a foreigner and patiently explained—she was very warm and welcoming. I was travelling alone and felt cold before, then I chose to gave them a Chinese knot as a gift, hoping they like it. I also hope I can come back and enjoy their food again.
The best fish and chips I've ever eaten, plus the people are super friendly and helpful. A place without a doubt where all the food they prepare is delicious. After placing your order, you can go eat it in front of the wonderful Portobello beach. I recommend all of this restaurant's food, and I swear you won't forget the people who work there because they are super friendly.
We’ve ordered fish&chips, chicken&onion pizza and sausages and they were SO GOOD The owner was so friendly and nice - we were so impressed by his kindness. The food is also cheap and the portion is generous. I’ll definitely visit this place again
Amazing fish and chips! The sweetest couple run this place. Fish is cooked fresh to order and was truly delicious. Flakey and perfect. Great chips too. Lovely lovely people who deserve local support! The shop is like it’s out of the 80s and my partner and I loved grabbing the fish suppers and eating on the beach.
